Northvolt leads this change and aims to become the leading battery partner for the European industries and set new benchmarks for sustainability and CO2 footprint.

As Northvolt is growing very fast in multiple European locations, each current and future production site is its own Program.
As a Program Purchasing Manager you will get the opportunity to steer one of the Programs from Equipment Purchasing perspective.

You will together with Equipment Category Teams set the awarding and contracting strategies for equipment vendors and jointly execute them.
You will create and own Dashboards to cover full Equipment Purchasing Scope from Cost and Delivery perspectives.
You will moderate Value Engineering and Cost Down discussion with the vendors to reach desired cost targets.
You will act as an agile single point of contact to dedicated Expansion Team from the initial Setup Stage till end of Program Execution.
You will be steering Joint Development Activities with Suppliers and search for new production process Technologies.
You will regularly report to company top management and stakeholders in Steering Committee meetings.

We believe you have great analytical skills, procurement, project management or management consultancy experience.

You will be part of Northvolt Supply Chain and work very closely with Expansion, Blueprtint & R&D teams.

The role reports to Senior Director Purchasing Equipment and Indirect.

You will setup a toolkit for Program Purchasing Management, incl. Trackers, Dashboards, Management Reports & Summaries
Together with other Program Managers you will search for synergies and standardisation within all Programs
You will manage the Program Tasks from procurement perspective and deliver according to Program Milestones
You will execute special projects within Equipment Purchasing Department

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • A degree in Engineering, MSc or MBA/Relevant University Degree
  • Working experience of more than 5 years procurement or project management function or at least 4 years in management consultancy.
  • Negotiation experience from both commercial (contracts, business awarding) and technical purchasing
  • Advanced skills in cost structure analysis & and ability to create bottom-up calculations is a clear plus
  • Experience of Advanced Negotiation Techniques is a clear plus
  • Very good team player, able to influence and convince other team members and project stakeholders

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
  • Highly organized and result-driven
  • Exceptionally good analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Can do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Qualities that we cherish are flexibility, sense of quality, friendliness, motivation to take on new challenges, grit and a sense of humor
  • Willingness to travel for EU and oversea business trips. (up to 25% of time)
