Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Logistics Developer to join our bold, excellent, and passionate team in Stockholm. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start, building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
As Logistics Developer you would focus on supporting the process of designing, procuring and implementing the set-up of material logistics to our giga-factory "Northvolt Ett" in Skellefteå and later on Northvolt Zwei in Germany. As a key player in the Logistics Team you will have the opportunity to build and procure sustainable logistical solutions from scratch, both for Northvolt’s operations in Sweden as well as beyond. You will be based in Stockholm at Northvolt’s head office and report to Jessica Goguillon, Logistics Manager.
In broad terms, team Logistics is responsible for everything that moves outside Northvolt factories' walls. Our mission is to support Northvolt’s growth and expansion with logistical expertise and to create a robust logistical framework, within which Northvolt units can operate.
Generally speaking, we believe that you already have a reasonable level of experience within logistics and transportation. For a few years now, you have either designed and developed logistical networks or managed the execution, monitored, and followed up international shipping across different transport modes: sea, air, road, rail and intermodal. You are familiar with the administrative side of the logistical process, documentation required to despatch, clear customs, receive and store cargo.
You have supported or led logistics projects around warehouse sizing or optimization. You can crunch data and have strong analytical skills.
You also appreciate the importance of adequate packaging to ensure safety and sound condition of the product in transit, as well as at the warehouse. Ideally you also have good understanding on how to use, or even better set up, different systems and modules (ERP/WMS/TMS) to support logistical planning and execution.
You might also have been involved in and supported logistics procurement processes: setting requirements, collecting relevant documentation, preparing data sets, and analysing the submitted bids and offers. Experience in shipping and handling of DG (dangerous goods) and familiarity with applicable laws and regulations within transportation and warehousing will be considered a plus.
When joining Northvolt, you would primarily be focused on establishing the framework for Northvolt Material logistics. Together with the Sourcing and Raw Materials Team you would start by securing the logistics behind the procurement of materials and components for Northvolt’s giga-factory in Skellefteå going operational in 2021 your attention would also extend to Northvolt Zwei in Germany over time.
We are looking for a great team player who wants to be a part of building a world class logistics department at Northvolt. Your assignments will go beyond the inbound operation as you will be supporting the colleagues across all locations in planning, design, and procurement of logistical solutions.
As Northvolt develops, so will you and your range of responsibilities.
In your job you will:
proudly represent the hashtag #materiallogistics
be the key contact in all logistical matters for the Sourcing and Strategic Raw Materials Teams as well as internal logistics colleagues and Northvolt’s suppliers
support the factory design process with logistics input
together with LSPs and Northvolt units draft and develop Standard Operational Procedures, as well as other standards, requirement sheets and processes ensuring logistically optimal and safe operation

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.
To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.
Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our two gigafactories: Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden, and Northvolt Zwei in Salzgitter, Germany. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
