We need a confident, proactive and self-driven Product Marketing Manager to help us take our latest solutions to market and build a successful business around them. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-moving environment, and with an unrelenting desire to succeed. The successful candidate will team-up with our talented technical and creative experts to develop compelling solutions that meet the needs of some of the largest organisations in the world. This is a chance to work at the forefront of cyber security innovation and to help shape the future of our industry.

The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and driving complete G2M strategies based on available data as well as documented hypothesis and assumptions. To do this they will employ a lean start-up approach of test, learn and iterate.

There are three core outputs that the Product Marketing Manager will take ownership of:

  1. Pricing – Design simple, flexible and profitable pricing models that align to client expectations as well as the scaling characteristics of the product’s business model.
  2. Packaging – Visualise and define strong product offerings that address client needs and delight users. Develop the strategic positioning, naming and activation strategies and adjust them rapidly as the venture evolves.
  3. Presentation – Create and communicate a compelling story for each product that inspires internal stakeholders and customers alike.

Key Responsibilities

Product leadership

  • Translate the vision for the product into an executable G2M strategy and plan. The plan should be well considered, realistic and structured to highlight any critical dependencies and risks. Build checkpoints and measures into the plan to assess progress against it.
  • Drive product growth by setting goals and partnering closely with various activation channels
  • Test and launch new cutting-edge products in-market by leading cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and consulting. Provide clear direction and clarify the roles, responsibilities and expectations for each team member. Ensure everyone knows what their part is in the overall success of the product G2M plan.
  • Structure conversations, build and socialize frameworks, and distil debates among peers and executives to align on direction.
  • Provide concise status reports that build confidence in the product and its G2M strategy.
  • Balance short-term demands with the longer-term needs of the business to deliver sustainable competitiveness and growth. Recognise when the strategy needs to change and bold in making tough decisions

Product and market knowledge

  • Act as the internal “voice of the customer” – capture, present and defend the needs and preferences of the buyer and the user. Understands what is important to the customer to balance solution efficacy and user experience with purchasing constraints.
  • Be the product’s “absolute SME” – Develop the deepest understanding of the product, market and competition. Confidently apply that knowledge to all operational activities and decisions.
  • Lead market assessment to identify new product opportunities through hypothesis-driven structured analysis, competitive analysis, and capturing and distilling qualitative feedback from businesses. Identify and assess target markets and quantify the business potential.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering on product design and development.

What are we looking for?

  • An ambitious, proactive and confident individual with an overriding desire to succeed. Able to seek out and chase opportunities. Measures their success in terms of the product’s success.
  • An analytical, data driven decision-maker. Advanced skills in researching and collating relevant data to inform required areas of subject matter expertise. Can analyse collated data to draw out relevant points to feed into the product G2M strategy and decision points.
  • Able to absorb the technical vision and translate it into a value proposition that can be taken to clients. Relishes the opportunity to work with technical SMEs but recognises that their role is to focus on the “what”, and not on the “how”. Understands what clients need to make confident purchasing decisions and satisfy their own purchasing processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working across teams without direct authority to create new opportunities and effect change. Doesn’t get hung up on rank or hierarchy. Able to recognize the limits of their own expertise and plays in others team members to fill in these gaps. Experience contributing at both strategic and operational levels. Capable of working effectively across global teams is a plus.
  • Crisp communication written and orally. Able to create collateral, FAQs, presentations and white papers that can be leveraged by salespeople, marketing and directors. Able to explain complex matters in concise and simple terms. Makes understanding easy for the receiver and avoids jargon/buzz words/niche technical terms.
  • Able to adapt their communication style to the situation and audience. Disseminates knowledge to different stakeholder types in a concise and tailored way that makes it easy for them to understand and perform their function. A dynamic and confident presenter able to excite an audience.
  • Confident and able to operate autonomously when required to. Able to maintain a high degree of self-motivation and discipline. Robust enough to deal with failure and recognize it comes with the territory. Sees failure as an opportunity to learn and improve.
