Location: London

Salary range: £32,000 p.a. - £41,000 p.a.

General Summary

Bonnier Books UK has an exciting new opportunity for a senior contracts executive or contracts manager to join the London team. The role will assist in the development and day-to-day management of the contracts department in a top UK publishing house.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Work alongside various teams across the business to draft, update and check agreements, addenda’s and letters
  • Negotiate contracts with external parties and stakeholders, in-line with internal requirements and guidelines
  • Maintain a close relationship with the creative, co-edition and rights teams
  • Help develop and improve processes in a fast-growing company
  • Contract management with a diverse range of clients, including authors, agents, illustrators, photographers, production companies, newspapers, foreign publishers, merchandising companies, and non-disclosure agreements
  • Assist in training, mentoring and management of a contracts assistant and freelancers
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Skills & Requirements

Skills and experience

  • Prior experience in drafting and negotiating contracts from internal templates and guidelines
  • Willing to learn and continually improve and develop business processes and personal skills
  • Friendly, approachable and be able to remain calm under pressure
  • Able to maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Knowledge of the book publishing industry advantageous but not essential
