Northvolt Zwei has an exciting opportunity for a Data Owner (m/f/d) to join our passionate Digitalization team. The scope of the job includes establishing the necessary processes and controls around the flow of data from data creation and acquisition systems, through reporting systems and all the way to the data controlling our machines. To goal is to ensure data quality for the company.

We believe that the ideal candidate (m/f/d) has a strong ability to grasp and understand fundamental master data processes we well as Internet of Things in order to develop and execute the data strategy.

You have the experience to quickly develop strong working relationships with business as well as technology teams. As Data Owner (m/f/d) you will lead the process for data and review new data requests to ensure alignment with the company’s data governance processes.

Limited travel to various project sites in Sweden will be required for learning, requirements gathering, engineering support and delivery as required.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interface with all relevant business and technical teams within Northvolt to execute the company’s data strategy; work with various groups to drive data quality, data management and metadata-related projects.
  • Drive industry standard practices in the management of Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing data
  • Drive implementation of the data management framework from the IT systems side; define processes required to make data useful and manage data as an asset.
  • Comprehend and identify linkages between projects and establish priorities, understanding the data mapping between IT systems (mainly PLM and ERP) and working with IT solutions architects to guide systems improvements .
  • Define, assess and drive industry standard methodologies, technologies and frameworks for governing data projects, for example the RAMI 4.0.
  • Identify and program-manage new data management initiatives, and drive the delivery of direct, tangible business value.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working within PLM, ERP and IoT, especially direct involvement in implementation of new IT systems.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment either in program management or Consulting.
  • A degree in Informatics or have 5+ years of experience working directly with engineersdevelopers to understand specifications and data in a program management role.

Specific Skills

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish and German is a plus.
  • Highly organized, collaborative and proactive problem-solver.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize a multitude of complex problems across cross-functional teams.

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a busy, fast moving environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå and Northvolt Zwei in Germany.

The Northvolt–Volkswagen Group joint venture is establishing a gigafactory in Salzgitter, Germany. Northvolt Zwei takes its design from the Northvolt blueprint for battery manufacturing developed for Northvolt Ett. Start of construction is planned for 2021 and start of operations beginning of 2024. Initial annual output will be at least 16 GWh.​
