Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join our stellar team in Skellefteå.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories and in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will be in charge of ensuring that Northvolt follows the best practice in terms of environment, health, safety and security. As leader of the unit you will have the opportunity to help build a competent and dependable team from scracth, capable to scale Northvolt’s operations in Sweden and beyond.

In general you have a long experience in the field and have been driving large, innovative and challenging projects with high demands in related fields.

The purpose of this role will be to set the strategy and build a team encompassing topics related to environment, health, safety and work environment. This will be done in cooperation with the management team, safety representatives, HR and others to ensure that environment, health, safety and security meets the highest standards and complies with the legislation and internal rules and routines. The Environment, Health and Safety Manager will also contribute with their expertise within this area and be responsible for ensuring that everyone in the company have the basis for complying with health and safety laws.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic planning of the Environment, Health and Safety area
  • Ensure follow up of Environment, Health and Safety performance indicators
  • Set up processes and ways of working for the area of environment, health, safety and systematic work environment work and link to management system
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Chairman of the local work environment committee for NV Ett

  • Participate in the central work environment committee for Northvolt

  • Responsible for the crisis management system

  • Participate in the ISO committee

  • Set up and conduct training and education to ensure a safe and healthy work environment!

  • Build a great and committed team

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications and experience

  • Master degree in Health, Safety, Environment
  • Previous management experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in the area of health and safety in manufacturing
  • Deep understanding of legal environment, health, safety and security guidelines

  • Excellent English and Swedish written and oral skills
