The production team of ILP makes sure that all projects run smoothly and supports the VFX Supervisors, artists and clients in every possible way. We are now looking for a Production Manager to join the team! Do you have what it takes to become a Pirate and contribute to the success of ILP? If you are passionate about visual effects and feel that managing world-class projects is your thing, we want to hear from you!

As a Production Manager at ILP, You are responsible for the production schedule and budget of the show in close collaboration with the VFX Supervisor. Your main responsibility is to bring the visual effects in on budget and on schedule to client satisfaction.

You are the key line between the work on the production floor and the overall view of the project, and where it all fits together in the bigger scheme. Working closely with Pirates in all capacities, you not only get a unique insight in all parts of the work, but you also get to learn and get to know all of the parts (and pirates) that make the whole. As a PM you can both work independently and run all production related matters on smaller shows, or lead a production team with several coordinators managing a much bigger scope - all depending on the incoming projects, your skills and preferences and the carefully considered dynamics within a team.

You closely collaborate with the Heads of Departments and Production Operations/Resourcing for purposeful and effective crewing and milestones tracking as well as bidding of potential projects.

You will be reporting to the Head of Production / COO.

Your work will include:

  • Working with the Leads and Supervisors to create, implement and run the schedule, track and manage the workflow through the departments and meet internal and external deadlines
  • Oversee Coordinators and ensure the good organisation of dailies, rounds and meetings, including the taking of notes and follow up of information
  • Issuing weekly internal and client progress reports
  • Anticipating artist and production bottlenecks before they happen
  • Overseeing the execution of client deliveries for all temps and finals
  • Making sure the milestones schedule is respected
  • Working with internal departments to address project issues, and ensure good communication
  • Proposing different solutions when problems occur on the project at every level
  • Taking responsibility for knowing the details of the schedule and advising the Coordinators accordingly
  • Anticipating and communicating issues to the Executive Producer and Supervisor in order to resolve problems quickly

You need the following:

  • A positive, can-do and solution-oriented attitude in all situations
  • Solid understanding of the VFX process
  • An organised and proactive nature and the ability to perform all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a willingness and ability to learn new skills and technologies
  • Being calm and confident under pressure and capable of delivering in a fast-paced environment
  • Great time-management skills with the ability to prioritise workload combined with a sense of urgency
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), as well as active listening skills

Experience in the following areas:

  • 5 years of experience in visual effects
  • Proven experience with VFX workflows, pipelines and turnarounds
  • Previous experience at Senior VFX Coordinator or Line Producer level
  • Proficient in production database tools e.g. Shotgun
  • Must be fluent in English, spoken and written. Bilingual, an asset

About the company

Important Looking Pirates is one of Scandinavia's biggest visual effects studios. Located in the heart of Stockholm we create photorealistic visual effects for international TV series and feature films.

ILP was founded by artists in 2007 with the vision to become one of the top international suppliers of VFX. Since our management are artists themselves the focus of the company has always been on the quality of our work. That focus has not only earned us the big productions we are working on today, but also international recognition and several of the most prestigious industry awards. We can proudly say that we have assembled one of the best visual effects teams in the business, currently with around 115 talents from all corners of the world.

Our latest projects include films like Star Wars - Rise of Skywalker, Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom and Aladdin, and TV series like The Mandalorian, Westworld, Lost in Space, Watchmen and Game of Thrones.

Our headquarters is located in the famous Norstedts building on the islet of Riddarholmen. The office is designed to inspire creativity and to provide the best possible work environment for creating spectacular visual effects. Almost a third of the office consists of social areas where the pirates gather to have lunch and celebratory fikas, get company updates, participate in fussball tournaments, and hang out for Friday beers.
