Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Category Manager - MRO to join our stellar/bold/passionate team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The overall mission is to lead category sourcing efforts for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations for Northvolt maintaining the suppliers' relationship, negotiate contracts playing a key role in Northvolt's cross functional team.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement warranty, repair and recovery program

  • Understanding engineering requirements and performance issues related to purchasing of MRO and develop data sets which would quantify performance values of parts and equipment in use

  • Negotiating pricing, supply, and quality in a highly structured and organized MRO market with multiple players

  • Establish catalog direct buying practices for E-Commerce MRO categories
  • Establish procedures and protocols for management of MRO master data, ensure the integrity of data system and develop long term strategy for master data management
  • Develop program for managing inventory levels for MRO spare parts, identify and direct the obsolescence of non-producing or obsolete materials.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders from different functional areas, considering each group’s interest, while making unbiased sourcing decision based on the concept of the total cost

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree with preferred focus on Sourcing & Logistics, and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated MRO category management experience
  • Experience in negotiating agreements/contracts with strong comprehension of legal and commercial terms and conditions
  • Curious, technically educated and with a strong business background

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
  • Highly organized and result-driven
  • An eye for detail
  • Proactive and goes beyond expectations
  • Exceptionally good negotiation and problem-solving skills

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
