Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Planning and Logistics Manager to join our passionate team in Västerås.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Planning & Logistics Manager will be in charge of the team of production scheduling, materials planning and internal logistics including material handlers. You will ensure proactive safe operations together with team and work with continuous improvements of safety and 5S.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Continue to develop our capacity planning system and the capacity utilization system to define what to produce where in terms of reducing lead time and maximizing the utilization of the capacity in the bottlenecks from a planning and energy perspective.
  • Internal logistics optimization, work with manufacturing and automation to reduce unnecessary transportation and movements.
  • Calling off materials from suppliers. Optimizing a lean handling of raw materials and finished products with JIT management. Work in close cooperation with purchasing and logistics department to give input for optimizing of costings of raw materials and transports.
  • Daily improvements to ensure high level of Safety and Quality within own area.

Skills & Requirements


  • Three years of gymnasium studies
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree (preferred) with focus on logistics, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering
  • Three years or more, of relevant experience within high volume production and planning
  • Proven leadership skills in a relevant area

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Fluency in English
  • Elementary computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, ERP-systems and MS in general)
  • Highly organized and result-driven

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
