Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Lead Engineer to join our passionate team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

As a Lead Engineer you will be a part of our business unit Battery Systems and you'll have an important role to lead technical sales support within ESS applications and support revenue generation of the business unit.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Represent Northvolt at events and customer interactions towards batteries as preferred solution for energy storage
  • Executing on strategic direction and identify new markets and/or accounts in alignment with overall strategic direction
  • Develop market requirements for identified business potential incl. product portfolio, cost targets and time lines with key accounts

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in design of energy storage and/or power grid solutions
  • Client facing experience from sales, project management, or as a technical consultant
  • Knowledge of Electrical Energy Storage and Battery technology
  • Startup and growth company experience, especially from hardware companies where sales is driven out of technical qualification

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills in both technical and business environments

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently

  • Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressure multi-cultural environment

  • Thrive working within tight deadlines and excellent at time management
  • Ability to break new ground and be bold enough to change status quo identifying new market potentials

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
