Job Description

Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) is seeking passionate individuals who will be involved with teaching and mentoring entrepreneurs-in-training in technology so that they can begin building a scalable technology company at the end of the program.

These individuals will contribute to creating a culture of excellence in a supportive environment that furthers the success of our entrepreneurs-in-training and drives the reputation of MEST as a world-class entrepreneurship training program.

Key Responsibilities

  • To design, develop and execute lesson plans on technical topics.
  • Grade and evaluate technical deliverables.
  • To mentor individuals and project teams.
  • To lead projects within the curriculum.
  • To meet required standards for teaching and mentoring as defined within overall curriculum implementation plan and KPIs.

Skills & Requirements

Required Experience

  • Demonstrated expert knowledge and professional experience in business and/or finance.
  • Significant experience in public speaking, teaching, and mentorship.
  • Understanding of Design Thinking methods is highly desirable.
  • Significant experience with entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural and geographically diverse teams and familiarity with the challenges/opportunities specific to African countries.
  • Bonus Points for experience in African or emerging markets.

About MEST

Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) recruits Africa's most promising software entrepreneurs for a fully sponsored, intensive 12-month training program. Entrepreneurs-in-Training (EITs) learn tech, business, and communications from a team of global experienced fellows. Graduates of our training program pitch their validated business ideas for the opportunity to receive seed funding and enter our incubator, where they will get hands-on support as they launch their business in one of our markets.

MEST consists of a 1-year training program at our Headquarters in Accra, Ghana, followed by support and mentorship through our incubator network across Africa. All members of MEST become part of our Pan-African tech community and receive access to our network of mentors, entrepreneurs, corporate partners and more.
