Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Program Planner (m/f/d) to join our Northvolt Zwei Program team.

As Program Planner (m/f/d), you will have ownership of the integrated plan for setting up Northvolt Zwei, the battery factory being built in Salzgitter, Germany. This integrated schedule constitutes the key parts from all the detailed plans of Construction, Process equipment, Procurement, Automation, Start of operations etc.

As Program Planner (m/f/d), your main responsibilities include keeping track of the key activities and milestones from now until start of battery production, as well as understanding how these are interlinked. You will play an important role in developing creative solutions to solve bottlenecks as and when they arise. Furthermore, you will secure alignment across all parties by running schedule reviews with the work stream leaders and external partners. Over time, you are expected to build up and strengthen the in-house planning team to prepare for the extensive equipment installation phase on site.

Ideally, you have experience as project leader (m/f/d) from large complex projects, such as building new sites, installing new equipment, and/or major re-work on current infrastructure. Your involvement in such projects has been driving the planning activities as well as been deeply involved in day-to-day problem solving. You have an eye for details, while at the same time keeping the larger picture in sight. You are solutions driven and can motivate your colleagues to go the extra mile.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • A relevant university degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar). Engineering degree preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years as planner and/or project manager in demanding industrial environment.
  • Experience in MS Project, Primavera and similar tools is a plus but not required
  • Preferably experienced with working on large fast paced building/EPC/Greenfield projects.

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish/German is a plus.
  • Highly organized and result-driven.
  • Proactive and goes beyond expectations.
  • Exceptionally good negotiation and problem-solving skills.

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a busy, fast moving environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå and Northvolt Zwei in Germany.

The Northvolt–Volkswagen Group joint venture is establishing a gigafactory in Salzgitter, Germany. Northvolt Zwei takes its design from the Northvolt blueprint for battery manufacturing developed for Northvolt Ett. Start of construction is planned for 2021 and start of operations beginning of 2024. Initial annual output will be at least 16 GWh.​
