Job Description

ReOrbit AB is an early-stage space startup founded in Stockholm, Sweden. ReOrbit makes space sustainable and affordable to solve the complex challenges of the globe. We enable this using a next-generation microsatellite platform that is reusable, flexible and modular. Our long-term goal is to achieve a sustainable space economy. We have a great founding team with 60+ cumulative years of experience within space. We are currently incubating in the STING, one of Europe’s best incubators, within the deep-tech program.

Description

We are looking for CTO/ Director Spacecraft Engineering to lead the development of our next-generation satellite programs. In this position, you will get the opportunity to build and lead the engineering team and will be responsible for the technical progress and execution of the modular and reusable microsatellite program. You will also support the customers' interaction and drafting proposals. This position will give you the opportunity to work on one of the ambitious projects within the space industry that could revolutionize the way satellites are generally perceived.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering leadership to coordinate design, analysis, and systems engineering processes throughout development, verification, delivery, and operation.
  • Manage the project budgeting, scheduling, risk management and flow of the project.
  • Represent the Company with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to define technology roadmap and drive the development of the project accordingly.
Skills & Requirements
  • MS in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Space systems engineering, GNC, orbital mechanics.
  • Board understanding of spacecraft engineering and space technology development.
  • Experience in 50-120 kg class satellite platform.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft docking systems, Rendezvous and Proximity Operations would be considered advantageous.
  • Excellent communications and writing skills and the ability to clearly present information to a diverse audience.
  • Experience in technical and team leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure in a thriving environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally for conferences and business.

Our Offer

The compensation consists of a base salary together with a stock option. We are currently in the process of fundraising and once successful the compensation can be revised.
