We are looking for a candidate to take on the position as Associate Product Manager for the Privacy Data and Technology team in Oslo.

Why choose this role?

The products the successful candidate will be managing include

  • Patent-protected SDK and API-based tools for automated data deletion and data portability across over 30 brands within Schibsted’s Media and Marketplace business in the Nordics, and more brands globally across the businesses of Adevinta
  • A cross-brand product to create an easy to understand, consistent and engaging experience for user-facing information about Schibsted´s processing of personal data and our accompanying policies
  • An interface delivering controls for personal data processing, one that also provides a performant system for internal distribution of user choices to downstream datastores, analytics and product functionalities as well as to external partners of Schibsted.

You’ll work together with a small and talented team of UX designers and developers to manage the evolution and maintenance of those products. You will also work closely with the Schibsted privacy function that defines Schibsted´s overall privacy approach. The role will report to our Director of Product for User Foundations within our Data & Technology organisation. The role will involve significant travel within Europe, likely 3-5 days monthly.

What we’re looking for in a candidate

We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience in product management, or relevant experience in other roles and a willingness to learn the art of product management. The ideal candidate will include demonstrated abilities to:

  • Lead and inspire a team to create amazing products
  • Identify and assess new strategic opportunities for their products using a data-driven approach
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders, the engineering and UX teams, and - of course - users
  • Take on new initiatives with relish and have a "let's solve this” attitude to complex challenges
  • Deliver against challenging stakeholder expectations in a timely manner

The ideal candidate will have 2 years+ experience of working as a product manager with distributed teams or similar relevant experience from user, data and technology-focused organisations.

A product manager with an information technology educational background will be preferred, but relevant experience will also be taken into account and can compensate for the lack of an IT educational qualification.

Complete proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is critical.

Experience in EU privacy law or privacy-related technologies will help to differentiate a candidate, but what is more important is a willingness to learn these specialisms over time.

If you’re interested in the role, apply below! We look forward to talking to all relevant applicants.
