Cigarette smoking shortens the life of just over 6 million people annually. Smoking rates decline at a far too slow pace. In fact, so slow that tomorrow holds more smokers than todays´1.2 billion due to population growth. By outperforming the deadly cigarette with attractive and far less harmful products that attract smokers, we can create a better world. Our successes in Sweden and Norway, whose result is reflected in public health statistics, are far too good for us not to share with the rest of the world.
Therefore, we have created Business Unit International with the purpose to expand the Swedish Match smoke-free product portfolio footprint in Europe (ex Nordics), Asia, South America, Africa and Middle East. Our current priority is to rapidly make ZYN nicotine pouches available world-wide, buildup a strong commercial network and win the hearts and minds of the consumers. At the same time, we want to work in harmony with the trends of society and politics.
The output of this project is to be used in the Business Units Strategic planning regarding what markets to prioritize and how to allocate the Business Unit’s budgets to maximize short- and long-term potential. Being responsible of this project, you will develop and deliver:
1) a comprehensive model/data base that identifies relevant parameters on the country level that can help to indicate potential attractiveness for new markets, e.g. cigarette pricing, e-cigarette prevalence, smokeless tradition and various regulatory parameters.
2) a specification of the Sales and Marketing investments needed to penetrate and grow each market and allocation of marketing mix on each market given local market conditions with a clear ROI perspective in the launch-, build-, and grow-phases with a 5 year perspective
The extent of the role: Fulltime 6-8 weeks during June-August
The opportunity of the role: A prolonged internship to a Management Trainee position start September
Skills & Requirements
An ongoing or finished degree in Business Administration/Retail Management or similar
Proficient in English, other languages and other cultural background a plus
