Skills & Requirements

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day functions of the brand and communications team, supporting the company’s objectives
  • Advise the CEO and senior leadership team on external and internal communications issues and act as the company spokesperson
  • Proactively anticipate crisis, reputational and business continuity issues and lead on response and day-to-day management
  • Oversee all trade communications, including the day-to-day sign off of trade press releases; maintain a positive relationship with the trade press
  • Write clear, concise and engaging copy for press releases, speeches, awards entries, briefing documents and Q&As, where necessary
  • Brief the senior leadership team for public speaking opportunities and media interviews, where relevant
  • Oversee, champion and protect the company’s brand identity internally and externally, ensuring clarity and consistency at all times
  • Promote the company’s brand guidelines and style guidelines and ensure they are kept relevant and up-to-date
  • Work with the CEO, HR director and senior leadership team on the development of the company’s Sustainability strategy, including managing the company’s day-to-day relationship with the National Literacy Trust
  • Advise the senior leadership team on internal communications, including people announcements and change communications
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the company’s website, www.bonnierbooks.co.uk, ensuring that is kept up-to-date with new content
  • Together with the CIO and HR Director, oversee the development and maintenance of Workplace, the company’s primary internal communications platform
  • Organise and manage trade events including book fairs, with support from the brand and communications executive
  • Be responsible for the design and production of company assets, including print and digital, maintaining the high quality expected of a publisher
  • Oversee the growth and development of the company’s social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Manage creative, digital and print agencies
  • Manage and develop the brand and communications executive
