Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a LCA-specialist (Life Cycle Assessment) to join our passionate team in Stockholm.

When joining us you will play an important part in our start-up journey, from a small company to one of Europes largest manufacturer of sustainable lithium-ion batteries. Northvolt is already playing an important part in the transformation to a carbon free society and the team at Northvolt is strongly driven by passion for sustainability and the environment.

As LCA-specialist you will be part of the Environmental team, working to makes sure we are producing and recycling the most sustainable batteries in the world. You will be working intimately with other teams in Northvolt as well as with external parties like universities and our customers sustainability experts. Your task will be to make sure that we are fulfilling our customers environmental demands and that we are constantly improving our environmental performance. You will be reporting to our Director of Environment.

We believe you have 3-5 years experience from Life cycle assessments and experience in GABI LCA-system is a merit.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • LCA-analysis
  • LCA-reporting to customers
  • Cooperation with our customers sustainability experts
  • Support and guide our teams to improve even further in environmental performance
  • Regulation compliance and support to public affairs manager

The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented and can work autonomous to drive the LCA. You will get the chance to have a real impact on our success story in Sweden (to start with) and see the results of your work. The Environmental compliance coordinator is a vital member of the Environmental team and key to Northvolt's mission to enable the future of energy.

Skills & Requirements


  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering or similar.
  • 3 to 5 years in LCA.
  • Experience in GABI or another LCA-software.
  • Track record of successful LCA.
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus.

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, German or Swedish is a plus
  • Highly organized and result-driven

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
