Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Supply Chain Sustainability Manager to join our passionate Sustainability team in Stockholm.

Northvolt was founded with the mission to create the world’s greenest battery. Fulfilling this mission requires working in a visionary and proactive way to drive the highest standards of sustainability across the entire battery value chain. When joining our team, you will play an important part in our start-up journey, as we are gearing up to become the leading European manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries.

As Supply Chain Sustainability Manager you will form an important part of the Sustainability team, which ensures that we are delivering on our promise to produce the world’s most sustainable batteries. You will be formulating and driving adherence to Northvolt’s sustainability targets across the entire value chain. You will be working intimately with teams across the Northvolt organization to support, educate and drive performance on our far-reaching sustainability goals, ensuring that we meet our customers demands and excel in internal environmental audits. You will be reporting to our Head of Sustainability.

We believe that you have 5+ years experience in supply chain sustainability and have been conducting internal as well as supplier audits in the past. We would also like to see that you to have experience in environmental reporting to authorities.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategically developing Northvolt’s sustainability across the supply chain, including coordinating supplier development projects

  • Delivering best-in-class sustainability compliance across due diligence, onboarding, monitoring and reporting of suppliers

  • Developing and implementing management systems for responsible supply chain

  • Coordinating and executing audits

  • Periodic reporting to and engagement with authorities, customers, investors and other stakeholders

  • Conducting trainings on supply chain sustainability and compliance

Skills & Requirements


  • Master’s degree in environmental/sustainability discipline or related field

  • 5+ years in supply chain sustainability or similar, at a consultancy firm or corporate

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent knowledge of sustainability frameworks, IFC PS, Global Compact, UNGP & familiarity with REACH reporting
  • Experience in sustainability-related analysis, due diligence and sustainability auditing in relevant markets
  • Experience in supply chain sustainability and compliance
  • Experience in development of processes, systems and reporting

  • Highly organized and result-driven with excellent time management skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and cross-functionally, as well as independently

  • Flexibility, friendliness, motivation to take on challenges, grit and a sense of humor

  • Passionate about sustainability performance

  • High work ethic, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
