Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an Environmental Compliance Coordinator to join our passionate and friendly team in Stockholm.

When joining us you will play an important part in our start-up journey, from a small company to one of Europes largest manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries. Northvolt is already playing an important part in the transformation to a carbon free society and the team at Northvolt is strongly driven by passion for sustainability and the environment.

As Environmental Compliance Coordinator you will be part of the Environmental team that makes sure we are making the most sustainable batteries in the world. You will also be working intimately with many other teams in Northvolt to support them and make sure that we are reaching out high goals, meeting our customers demands and excel in internal environmental audits. You will be reporting to our Director of Environment.

We believe you have 3-5 years experience in ISO 14001 and have been conducting internal audits in the past. We would also like to see that you to have experience in environmental reporting to authorities.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating and executing internal audits of ISO 14001
  • Coordination of environmental compliance
  • Yearly reports to authorities

The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented, curious and eager to learn. You will get the chance to have a real impact on our success story in Sweden (to start with) and see the results of your work. The Environmental Compliance Doordinator is a vital member of the Environmental team and key to Northvolt's mission to enable the future of energy.

Skills & Requirements


  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering or similar.
  • 3 to 5 years in Environmental compliance or similar.
  • Track record of successful ISO-audits
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a busy, fast moving environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
