We are seeking a talented and experienced professional with a positive and forward looking approach to take responsibility for managing a skilled Production team and ensuring that all areas of Production are met on a daily basis and performed in accordance with contractual obligations and standard operating procedures. This position provides the candidate the opportunity to manage cutting-edge Cloud solutions along with sophisticated monitoring and analytical tools utilized to ensure production health and forecast planning.

Key role responsibilities

As Senior Manager, Cloud Operations you are key contributor in

  • Leading multiple teams, 50+ individuals
  • Managing team logistics such as shift schedules (24x7x365), team member assessments, facilitating team development in accordance with industry standards.
  • Escalation management for all major production issues/requests
  • Strong hands on involvement in conducting & coordinating Problem Investigations due to service disruptions with key R&D and Support members, leading to corrective actions and ensuring preventative measures identified are implemented.
  • Ensuring that all Production Operational processes / work instructions / supplementary documentation is maintained
  • Continuous development of new operational practices and improvement upon our current operations processes
  • Managing system analytical duties of our SaaS Production and Customer Test environments which hosts thousands global customers and ensuring optimal hosting and system level performance from both an infrastructure and application level perspective.
  • Managing limited-scale deployments for customer requested enhancements to Customer Test and Production environments.
  • Analyzing and continuously enhancing existing monitoring systems to ensure all possible symptoms of potential service disruptions are configured for early detection.
  • Ensuring that accurate, quick and useful feedback is provided to R&D on all bugs and enhancement requests identified in production environments.
  • Working directly with a globally distributed operations, deployment and infrastructure teams in, Finland, UK, US, Romania and India.
  • Ensuring that internal and external communications are well defined and delivered according to our customer service level agreements.

Skills & Requirements

Required Experience / Knowledge:

  • 10+ years in an Operations Management or equivalent role.
  • Practice continuous improvement of IT service delivery through adherence to ITIL framework principles and processes
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with sharp attention to detail.
  • Provide technical thought leadership to advance innovation, automation, and enhancement in proactive monitoring
  • A solid understanding of Enterprise Architecture, cloud-based technologies (MS Azure / AWS) and/or Software as a Service Orientated Architecture (SaaS)
  • 5+ years’ experience working in various administrative roles such as MS SQL Server/ Linux Admin, to Oracle/ MS SQL Server Admin, DevOps or Cloud Engineer
  • Strong leadership skills & Experiencing in leading big team working in a 24x7x365 support model Experience investigating Production issues with virtual team members in a collaborative manner.
  • Strong technical, analytical & problem-solving skillset
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience using Server/Application monitoring systems /log management systems such as Zabbix, Pingdom, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, Sumo Logic

Technical Qualification : B.Sc. IT/M.Sc. IT or any equivalant technical degree/qualification.

Added Value Experience / Knowledge:

  • Experiencing with application virtualization and delivery frameworks such as Citrix
  • Scripting capabilities in Windows PowerShell, Unix Shell scripts (bash, sh) or similar
  • Experience using Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence
  • Understanding / Experience in Agile (Kanban) based project management
