We are currently searching for a visionary, bold manager with a focus on the end goal and plan for the long term to act as our new Director of Concept Management. In this role you will own global concepts and related value propositions with the aim of driving long-term profit growth through a superior, scalable, cost efficient customer experience. Another focus is to analyze and develop deep insights into customer needs across markets and categories in both B2C and B2B. You will drive best practice sharing across markets by collaborating closely with local concept managers in each country.

The role reports to the Chief Customer Officer and your peers will be the Heads of Brand management, Marketing, Customer Loyalty and Insights and E-commerce & Digital Innovation.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Define Scandic-wide value propositions and strategy for where to play and how to win in all categories, in close collaboration with Country Managers / Country Marketing Directors
  • Personally manage and develop a selection of concepts in total portfolio
  • Ensure an effective assessment of the competitive landscape and customer needs in to define Scandic's points of differentiation vs. competition and identify untapped opportunities
  • Drive digital development in concept management including digital sales channels & presence, and set requirements towards other functions
  • Drive, prioritize and ensure follow-up and follow-through on all business cases for new products and concepts
  • Ensure best practice sharing for all categories across markets leveraging input from local concept managers
  • Collaborate closely with local marketing & brand directors, local F&B directors, local concept managers
  • In collaboration with internal stakeholders ensure the Concept management team:
    • Evaluates and improves product and service concept portfolio to grow business across markets
    • Understands key trends in market and customer needs in core segments
    • Identifies Scandic-wide levers from e.g. SGS, to prioritize product/concept dev. using data
  • Key ownerships:
    • Scandic wide product and service concept portfolio management and concept value propositions
    • Digital strategy for concepts across Scandic
    • Prioritization of business cases for customer-facing product and service concepts

  • Customer experience metrics (at present hotel NPS and total guest satisfaction)
  • Ancillary revenue and cost savings
  • Outcome / success of product and concept portfolio
  • Internal collaborator satisfaction
  • Top-of-mind unaided brand awareness
  • Brand/value proposition preferences vs. competition

Skills & Requirements

Experiences you bring and share with us

  • Experience from product, service, concept management, development and innovation, preferably from a digitally driven industry
  • Experience from businesses where digital solutions can change category offering and ways of working
  • Hotel or related industry experience meriting
  • University degree in business, economics or equivalent subject
  • Deep understanding and experience from interpreting customer needs and operational execution in a service oriented business
  • Experience of successfully implementing new concepts
  • Matrix organization experience meriting
  • International experience meriting
  • Experience from concept-based companies meriting
  • At least 2 years of management experience
  • Comfortable in agile ways of working
