Northvolt has an exciting job offer in our stellar/bold/passionate team in Stockholm.

At Northvolt Battery Systems we develop high performance li-ion battery systems. You will be given the opportunity to be part of the development of these systems that has high requirements on system safety, security and robustness. These systems are also connected to enable data collection, over-the-air software updates of parts the system, and remote maintenance.

The role is in the Battery Management System team that is responsible for the SW development for all control systems in our battery packs and racks.

We have several control units in our system where we on regular basis makes software deliveries, some of the systems are used for functional safety which puts higher demands on the tools and process used, as well as documentation and reports needed for every release.

We are now looking for a software configuration & release manager to help is improve and be more efficient in these areas. You will have to possibility to affect the way we do things, and improve our tools and build environments.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the software processes for configuration and release
  • Managing and improving our software tools, the build environment and the Continuous Integration environment.
  • Plan and sync releases with the Product Owner, Scrum Master and Software QA Lead
  • Doing the formal software releases and deliveries for all our systems
  • Improving the build environment by e.g. automation of: generation of reports, documentation, databases and other artefacts
  • Developing scripts for e.g. automated software quality checks

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • You should have a relevant education in e.g. Computer Science or similar working experience.
  • More than 3 years’ experience from a similar role.
  • Expert knowledge in CMake, Python, and common scripting languages for these tasks
  • Earlier experience in using systems like e.g. JIRA for issue tracking and GIT for version handling
  • If you in addition have experience in writing simple GUI:s or script applications for development and test purposes it is meritorious.

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
