Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Compliance Engineer to join our passionate Battery Systems team in Stockholm.

The Northvolt Battery Systems department has a mission to design and produce the greenest and safest battery packs for Industrial and Grid applications. Quality and safety is what our heart beats for and we are looking for a Compliance Engineer to work with interdisciplinary teams in our Stockholm office.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving our products certification roadmap and make sure we are complying with all customer, internal and standard requirements to obtain market access in many regions worldwide.

We are looking for a driven and technical compliance engineer who leads the discussion regarding any type of requirements for our products. You will be working with many different Engineers and Project Managers, so communication is the key to success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive product compliance projects for CE, UL and other markets
  • Create certification roadmaps for our products
  • Coordinate the requirements with design teams
  • Conduct product safety evaluations
  • Be the contact person with certification bodies
  • Support the coordination of product testing and certification with 3rd parties
  • Compile and maintain technical files for certification and regulatory bodies
  • Issue reports and declarations of conformity

Skills & Requirements

  • Technically proficient in areas of Electrical and Mechanical engineering
  • Experience in applying current European and American Directives/Standards for Lithium-ion battery products
  • Experience in certification of products within and outside Europe
  • Passionate for enabling a more sustainable future
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal in English
  • Ability to work in an autonomously driven, fast paced and demanding start up

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
