Role: APAC Contract Manager

We are looking for an APAC Contract Manager, fluent in Chinese, to join Meltwater’s legal team based in Singapore. The ideal candidate is pragmatic and business-oriented, comfortable in a fast-paced sales environment, and a quick study who is not afraid to dig in to get the job done.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the sales organisation in closing deals and negotiating sales contracts for the China and wider APAC markets.
  • Reviewing and negotiating a variety of other contracts in Chinese and English such as confidentiality agreements and tender documentation.
  • Assisting the senior counsel in regional and strategic projects as required, including those related to data protection, privacy and corporate governance initiatives across APAC.
  • Ensuring that Meltwater’s products are compliant with laws and regulations.
  • Assisting with policies and procedures to ensure legal best practices.
  • Providing legal analysis for proposed business actions.
  • Creating template forms, agreements, policies, and internal documentation.
  • Addressing a variety of legal issues at any given time.
  • Collaborating with numerous departments and offices and managing a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Drafting and coordinating corporate secretarial work across APAC.

Requirements:

  • 3 – 5 years of legal or contracts experience.
  • Must be residing and eligible to work in Singapore.
  • Excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (verbal and written). Japanese is a plus.
  • Ability to work fast, juggle different priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities to support the variety of demands of the company at any given time.
  • Corporate secretarial experience in Asia preferred but not crucial.
  • Experience with technology transactions, sales support, internet business, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) is a plus but not required.
