Quality Control - Laboratory technician Chemistry

Northvolt is now looking for Laboratory Technicians Chemistry to be part of our Quality Control Team in Västerås.

In your role you will perform analyses for evaluating incoming materials, intermediates and final products for Production and Development of Li-ion battery cells, reporting to the Quality Control Manager. You will be running the analyses using a range of advanced analytical instruments, interpret the data and report the results. You will also develop methods for the different measurements and document them in standard operation procedures. To maintain the analytical instruments to a high standard is also part of your role.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Executing experiments in an effective manner, following standard operation procedures.
  • Interpret and report data/results
  • Write standard operation procedures
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and calibration on instruments and equipment

Skills & Requirements


  • Bachelor´s degree (or technical school degree) within chemistry and/or comparable work experience
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in laboratory environment with advanced analytical instruments
  • Experience from quality control, preferable from Li-ion materials, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage or Pulp & Paper industries
  • Experience from some of the methods XRD, Dynamic light scattering, ICP-OES, GC, SEM/EDX, BET, contact angle measurement and titration

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration.
