As an Integration Engineer at Mentimeter you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team of creative and driven engineers, product manager, data scientist and designer that delivers a robust and scalable platform that is used all over the world by Mentimeter’s more than 80 million users. You should be curious about how to build large-scale, business-critical systems with modern technologies and your responsibilities will include to research, design and implement services that can scale in an efficient and reliable manner.

Mentimeter is a high transaction system built in React, Redux, Ruby, Node.JS with a PostgreSQL database for persistence, Redis for caching and queuing, AWS Redshift for Business Intelligence, CloudFront as a CDN (with Lambda@Edge), and WebSockets to enable a fast and interactive polling experience. Hosting is done on Heroku and AWS with Continuous Integration using Github and Circle CI. Credit-card payments are done by Braintree, and Taxamo are used to manage VAT compliance and PE for accounting.

We are in an exciting phase where the platform must evolve in order to ensure continued scalability of the platform and our business. You will be part of making decisions on what architecture and technologies are best suited for our future challenges. For example, we are scaling a new CRM system to the company to support our growing sales-team.

We work in small, independent, self-organizing teams. The team’s product manager and engineering lead work together to organize and plan the team’s backlog with a Kanban/Scrum-mixed process, with a focus on continuously delivering new features to our users.


  • Integrate application data with third-party vendors such as CRM and analytics tools
  • Revenue and accounting pipelining such as credit card payments
  • Part of the backend craft and participate in long-term planning of platform needs
  • Influence which tools, programming languages, and technologies you work with
  • Help ensure we have a smooth software pipeline for continuous and fast delivery
  • Pair with other team members and teams to cross-pollinate ideas and skills
  • Implement features while ensuring long term stability of our system and quality of the code
  • Take on initiatives and follow others’ requirements
  • Balance discovery phases with implementation work
