JamesEdition is one of the leading global classifieds sites for luxury real estate, cars, yachts and jets with more than 10 years in the business. We have over the years built a platform and brand that attracts thousands of users every day through a multitude of marketing channels from all over Western Europe, North America, South America and Asia. Now we are now looking for someone to lead the future development of our brand and marketing efforts as we scale and expand our business into new markets.

For this role we are looking for a superstar. During the previous twelve months we have built a new agile team of individuals focused on transforming our business into a top-class classifieds player. We are headquartered in Moscow, Russia, but offer flexible location options and have employees across both Europe and the US. We consider ourselves a modern goal-oriented organization with a flat hierarchy, minimum bureaucracy, high responsibility and remote-first culture (people choose where to work with complete freedom).

Your responsibilities will be to:

  1. Be the voice of the customer inside the organization. As a global two-sided classifieds platform we have to cater to both buyers and sellers across the world. Our main customer segments are luxury real estate agencies, all the way from Sotheby's and Christie's to the leading independent agency on the French Riviera, mainly based in hotspots in North America and Western Europe. Your role will be to aggregate and proactively collect input from our users, sort out what is relevant, and in a structured way act on and communicate findings to the JamesEdition team.
  2. Build the necessary capabilities to compete as a top-of-the-line classifieds platform. Today's marketing landscape is vast. Moreover as a classifieds platform we have the possibility to collect almost an infinite amount of data points every day. Your task will be to understand what's relevant to collect and lead the implementation of the necessary tools to drive an efficient marketing strategy. Today we are using tools such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp and Intercom, but we love 3rd party SaaS and are always open to use the latest and best things out there.
  3. Be on top of where we should be. At a point in time where online marketing channels perhaps are as non-fragmented as ever, new growth levers might still come from the most unexpected places. Your role will be to understand where and why we should direct our resources to certain platforms and channels to attract and retain buyers and sellers. The basics of SEO, SEM and social are must haves, and we want to have someone that with innovative thinking can push us into new interesting online and offline channels to reach our target audience.
  4. Set the tone and guard our brand. Great brands today are also great storytellers. You will be leading the work to define what JamesEdition is about to today and where we are taking our brand. You are able to convey a clear message in different ways and channels that tells the story of JamesEdition to both internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Drive our marketing with a growth mindset. Even though we are ten years in the business, make no mistake - the startup mentality is present every day in every decision we make. JamesEdition today is only a fraction of what we want to become, and this is the mindset that you have to possess. You are able to break down goals into digestible pieces and plans that are clear for your team to understand and execute on. You have the capability to set ambitious plans by constantly looking for new pockets of growth, prioritize what's most important today and deliver on goals in time.

Your success will be based on how efficiently you can drive seller and buyer leads to the platform, using a combination of paid, owned and earned channels. You will have significant resources in terms of team, product and budgets to reach your goals.

Skills & Requirements

What we would like to see from you:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and experience from platform businesses, marketplaces, classifieds, eCommerce, or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing (online marketing, brand building)
  • Comfortable delivering presentations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Fluent English skills (a second language, such as Spanish or French is highly valued)
