Job Description

Production environment (consisting of servers, instrument PC's & instruments)

• Plan / participate in meetings to evaluate instrument downtime together with stakeholders
• Plan installation on instrument systems, servers & firmware upgrades on instruments
• Coordinate C-packages to be deployed to the office PC's in the upgrade time window
• Execute manual software part installation on instrument PC's according schedule
• Execute server software part installation according schedule
• Execute firmware upgrades on instruments according schedule

  1. Lab Application Small Enhancement
  2. Perform installation qualifications (GxP), and if appropriate for non-GXP systems
  3. Assist in small local enhancements activities, if required
  4. Assist in beta testing of new equipment for mobility, new trends, etc., if appropriate
  5. Participate in change management initiatives, lifecycle management initiatives as SME to provide technical input and guidance for local/global systems if needed through BO/TAO.
  6. Follow trainings to stay certified in application / QA / maintenance procedures (SOP’s, WI’s, …)
  7. Initiate and participate in creating/updating processes needed for the LAB enhancements
  8. Provide specific solutions and technologies for the lab and plant environment for the existing and new systems, such as
    • Connecting local lab instruments and plant equipment to the network
    • Configuring PC’s with specific operating systems and software solutions
    • Developing solutions for hardwired and mobile access to systems in the lab (kiosk PCs)
    • Execution qualification scripts and providing technical info for IQ and OQ scripting
    • Contact vendors for new driver/software releases, licensing or quotations on business owner’s request

TASKS

  1. PDMS Lab Support Services Beerse

  2. Provide local language on-site support for critical applications and instrument connections incidents

  3. Facilitate the interaction with remote Application Support Teams

  4. Collaborate with infrastructure groups (ITS) for Citrix / server or database problems/impacts
  5. Incident management of software related issues on instruments (requiring proximity to the instrument)
  6. Provide technical support in complicated interfaces between systems and lab instruments
  7. Responsible for configuring the communication between DAC’s and Instruments
  8. Install/Upgrade Firmware on Instruments as part of the communication set-up
  9. Create instrument-specific configurations on the Empower 3.0 system to enable the complete DAC/Instrument setup.
  10. Vendor Contact when required (Problems, licensing,…).
  11. L3 escalation point for complex issues
  12. Pilot the installation of new type of instruments
  13. Document ‘build’ processes for execution by support team
  14. Local coordination of changes that are deployed on the Global System
  15. License management for use of local licenses
  16. Qualification & validation work
  17. Monitoring space, Monthly Security patch updates and DAC reboots
  18. Technical Documentation writing

  19. Responsible for IT-2-IT Operational Requests for PDMS Beerse
    Development environment
    • Install new software parts released by SW vendor(s) in Development environment
    • Configure installed parts & update instrument firmware on test systems
    • Initiate C-package creation if needed (provide technical installation info)
    • Test C-package (only for use on the office systems)

• CSV knowledge + 21 CFR Part 11 (Regulations -? FDA, ERES, Compliancy, …)
• Documentation (GDP -? Good Documentation Practices)
• Communication -? communication with internal/external stakeholders (suppliers, contractors, business, …) in Dutch & English
• Connectivity (COM, IEEE, Ethernet, ...) -? hardware/software (to physically connect & configure systems to PC's/servers)
• Scripting (write batch or automation scripts)
• Troubleshooting -? analytical mindset
• Solution minded -? be able to improvise and search for alternative solutions
