Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Energy Efficiency Engineer to join our passionate team in Västerås.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

We are searching for a Energy Efficiency Engineer with industrial experience in power plants with direct responsibility in heat generation, heat recovery, and steam generation. You are preferably working right now as a Lead Process Engineer in designing, installing, servicing in a power plant with hands-on experience in the field. You are a specialist know-how in heat generation, heat recovery technologies and steam boilers.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Develop and evaluate several scenarios for steam, heat generation and distribution, and heat recovery
  2. Execute process, mechanical engineering, and thermal engineering calculations with related computational tools
  3. Prepare requirement documents, data sheets, technical engineering documents, manuals and equipment specifications
  4. Coordinate relationship with equipment sub-suppliers and local municipality power company
  5. Manage offerings for energy recovery solutions and provide technical support to the management team for proposals
  6. Support supply chain and quality team in sourcing, auditing and QA/QC activities, CE marking, risk assessment

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • A degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Process, Energy Engineering, or other relevant background
  • 4+ years working experience in power plants with experience in heat generation, heat recovery, and steam generation
  • Hands-on experience from designing, installing, servicing in heat and steam generation, distribution and heat recovery
  • Technology specialist in heat recovery technologies and steam boilers
  • Familiar with related standards in heat and steam generation/distribution related components (pumps, expansion tanks, heat exchangers, piping/tubing, filters etc.)
  • Must have worked in multi-cultural environment
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration.
