We are looking to fill a few mid to senior level animation positions, starting as soon as possible. The contracts will initially be until July/August 2021. You will preferably work at our office in Stockholm but remote work might also be possible. In that case you need a solid connection and the closer you are to our geographical location the better. You need to be allowed to work in the EU either way.
As an animator at ILP you are an essential part of helping our clients tell their stories. It is a very creative role where you apart from animating will be involved in everything from layout to editing and have a big impact on the final result. We strive to give our artists a lot of creative freedom and welcome suggestions outside of the original brief to improve the work.
Our focus has always been photorealistic, keyframed animation and we are not afraid to put in the extra effort to make it perfect. Since our animation team is relatively small we expect everyone to be able to tackle all kinds of animation - creatures, vehicles, cameras, inanimate objects, layout, directed destruction, rotomation, etc. We also expect our animators to be mindful of the bigger picture, making sure their shots fit into the edit and tell the story in the best possible way.
Important Looking Pirates is all about communication and team effort and part of the responsibility of the animators is to make sure that their animations work well with the rest of the team. It can be talking to FX artists about what they need for their simulations to work properly, discussing with lighters how to bring out the most of each shot, or updating managers and coordinators about progress and roadblocks. This adds an extra layer of responsibility on all our artists but it also gives that extra sense of ownership and involvement that motivates our artists to go the extra mile. This, together with a culture that encourages everyone to chip in with their ideas, is what enables ILP to deliver the quality we are known for.
Although years of experience are valuable, mostly we are looking for artists with a great attitude towards learning and a passion for doing quality work.
Your work will include:

That focus has not only earned us the big productions we are working on today but also international recognition and several of the most prestigious industry awards. We can proudly say that we have assembled one of the best visual effects teams in the business, currently with around 110 talents from all corners of the world.
Our latest projects include films like Star Wars - The Last Jedi, Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom and Aladdin, and TV series like Carnival Row, Game of Thrones, Westworld and Lost in Space.
Our new headquarters is located in the famous Norstedts building on the islet of Riddarholmen. The office is designed to inspire creativity and to provide the best possible work environment for creating spectacular visual effects. Almost a third of the office consists of social areas where the pirates gather to have lunch and celebratory fikas, get company updates, participate in fussball tournaments, and hang out for Friday beers.
