Igloo Books is looking for a key account manager to join the sales team in Northampton. The role is responsible for managing and developing a number of key UK retail accounts, as well as supporting the broader team with identifying and maintaining a strategic roster of book-buying customers.

The key account manager will need to develop strong working relationships with the buying and sales teams to encourage profitable sales growth.

Essential job functions/responsibilities

  • Manage a designated number of UK retail accounts, encouraging development and growth via positive customer relationships and researching new retail opportunities.
  • Accountable for P&L and achieving sales targets with designated retail accounts.
  • Analyse customer data and retailer sales data to identify opportunities to maximise revenue.
  • Manage sales strategy meetings with retail accounts, presenting NPD information.
  • Work closely with the head of Autumn and licensing publishing to identify opportunities for retail sell-in of licensed products (such as the Disney and Marvel ranges)
  • Develop strong working relationships with all internal departments in the business.

Skills & Requirements

Skills and experience

  • Organisation and time management skills.
  • Demonstrable sales forecasting ability in terms of both finance and stock management.
  • Demonstratable sales and negotiation experience.
  • Capable of forward-planning for different sales ranges and categories, with the ability to create and implement promotional plans for products.
  • Strong communication ability, capable of delivering a consistently high level of customer service.
  • Strong mathematical and numerical ability.
  • Analytical, forward-thinking and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • 2 – 3 years of sales experience is beneficial.
