Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Sourcing Manager Energy and Raw Materials to join our passionate team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale battery factories in Europe. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Sourcing Manager Energy and Raw Materials will be in charge of energy contract(s) and other purchases of metals and/or raw materials. As part of the Raw Material team you will have direct influence over critical purchases of electricity and raw materials, contributing to the success of Northvolt’s operations in Sweden and beyond. You will be in charge of setting up and executing on our long-term Raw Material strategy and reporting to the Director Raw Materials.

In general you have signficant experience in suitable fields and have been driving negotiations and responsible for a variety of purchase activities. Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working with the energy markets and preferably with other commodities.

It is critical that you share Northvolt values in terms of sustainability

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute Northvolt’s energy strategy
  • In tight collaboration with technical team and other internal functions, develop a supply base that fits Norhvolt’s need in terms of quality, reliability, competitiveness and sustainability values
  • Negotiate and execute on Raw Material contract
  • The individual we are seeking is strongly goal oriented, curious and eager to learn.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • A degree in Finance or Engineering or other relevant University Degree
  • 7+ years working experience
  • Successful track record in purchasing/selling or trading in the energy or metal industry
  • Great negotiator
  • Curious, strong business background preferably in a fast growing environment
  • Preferably experience in multi-cultural environment
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
  • Highly organized and result-driven

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
