We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. You will work on delivering insights on one of the most successful entertainment brands in the world, and help our teams grow our games.

Data at massive scale sits at the heart of everything we do at Rovio, it enables us to improve our games that have millions of daily users. We believe such huge data has value only if it is converted to actionable insights. Business Intelligence team empowers our Games unit through insights derived from the data. As a data analyst, you’ll be responsible for the backbone of the BI setup as well as cross-portfolio analysis.

The perfect candidate is driven to dig deeper and turn complex problems into tangible datasets and insights. You will use your technical skills to process data, calculate business-critical metrics and automate insight generation. Additionally, you will be the main owner of business reporting and relevant analytics setup. We expect from you an analytical mindset and the ability to explain complex subjects in a clear and concise manner. Communication is key to making data actionable.

The main responsibilities are in the following three areas:


  • Having ownership of the team’s existing pipelines and repositories
  • Implementing scripts and solutions to standardize analysis
  • Developing and sharing data practices with analytics and BI teams
  • Collaborating with engineering teams for designing relevant analytics solutions


  • Understanding changes in key metrics and long-term trends
  • Driving decision making through presentation of work
  • Producing dashboards, reports and presentations that measure business performance


  • Building data sets and automating analyses using SQL
  • Ensuring data quality and availability

You'll need:

  • Passion for gaming and problem solving
  • Command of advanced SQL
  • High level of proficiency in relevant scripting language(s), e.g. R or Python
  • Knowledge of current big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, EMR)
  • Data literacy and quantitative analysis skills
  • Excellent social and cooperation skills
  • Positive attitude and can-do mindset
  • Familiarity with software development tools and processes (Git, peer reviews)

Additionally, we'd love if you have:

  • 2+ years of work experience in a relevant position
  • Prior experience working in gaming industry
  • Understanding of statistical analysis or data science concepts
