Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a production controller to join our passionate team to be based in Västerås.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The person will be managing production controlling in Västerås. You will support and work closely with the business leader and support the build up of operations. You will be working intimately with the operations team.

In general you have a long experience in the field and have been working as production controller in manufacturing industries and preferably complex projects.
Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working a fast paced organisation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • You will be working with Business and production control for Västerås, partnering up with other functions, building business plans and define ways to identify gaps, opportunities.
  • You will engage in the Business Unit P&L, connecting into the business model, striving to identify cost saving opportunities and efficiency gains.
  • You will work with costing of our products and the set-up of the ERP system and analyse and follow up on standard cost and variances.
  • You will define ways to measure and report on the business key indicators. This will also include development of cross charging and internal pricing mechanisms and principles.
  • You will create tools for management to measure their business
  • You will work closely with Vendors and Purchasing, following up on contracts and business activities and steer these into higher profitability, participating in procurement and contract writings and measure productivity, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • You will work closely with the commercial teams, providing crucial insights that help to understand the business drivers and identify growth opportunities and follow up on customer projects.

  • You will be a key driver in setting up new templates and KPIs, e.g driving sales and implementing a more efficient IT system to respond to business needs, setting the requirements on how to structure ERP to create more performance driven/ KPIs.

  • You will work with detailed follow up through monthly reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow as well as operational KPIs

  • You will be part of regular business reviews for the Business unit teams as well as towards the 1st and 2nd layer management.

The production controller will report into Business Control, with a dotted line to the business leader and work very closely with the overall finance team.

As you will be a real part of the line management and decision taking, you have the maturity to handle internal leaders and drive projects independently also with external stakeholders.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, MBA is a plus
  • 3+ years working experience preferably in manufacturing sector with previous proven experience in design and implement operational and financial KPI’s, working closely with the whole P&L
  • A strong understanding of Financial systems & their impact on the Commercial P&L & KPIs together with a practical appreciation of how they can best be deployed by Commercial teams as an enabler.
  • Strong understanding of production controlling and how it is connected to overall business.
  • Experience in costing of products and understanding of standard costing and variance analysis
  • Experience in working with cross-functional project teams.
  • Confident and able to build strong and challenging working relations with Commercial teams.
  • Curious, technically educated and with a strong business background
  • Must have worked in multi-cultural environment
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus
