We are looking to grow the data team within Northvolt Digitalization. Our factories, batteries and R&D laboratories are producing large amounts of heterogenous data that get uploaded to our cloud platform, and are then processed, organized, and ready for analysis. Working within the data team, you will partner and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Northvolt. As a Data Engineer, you will contribute directly to solving problems, enable discovery of insights, and build a reliably performant data platform. We use technology and data to co-develop solutions that matter, and welcome applicants who are motivated to make a personal impact while being part of an excellent and supportive team. Feel free to read our AWS blog post about the Northvolt platform https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/i...

We are searching for someone passionate about designing and building cloud data platforms for both batch and streaming data ingested from our connected factories and our customers' connected battery systems. You have experience with data at scale and are comfortable developing systems given varying requirements in data volume, variety, velocity and latency. We are looking for a curious life-long learner who takes ownership and is eager to collaborate to build better products. This role is a vital member of the Digitalization team and is key to Northvolt's mission to enable the future of energy.

Key responsibilities include

  • Design, maintain and monitor cloud architectures comprised of databases, data lakes and ETL systems
  • Predict future data-related bottlenecks. Plan and deploy data achitecture and processes accordingly to suit changing requirements with rapidly increasing scale
  • Recommend specific technology solutions suitable for Northvolt's particular conditions and ambitions
  • Build and optimize big data pipelines for processing large-scale raw data streams from IoT devices
  • Define efficient and flexible schemas and make data accessible to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Apply with CV and cover letter or your complete LinkedIn profile.

Full-time employment, fixed salary.

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
