We are looking for a passionate Visual Designer to join one of our teams in Editorial Solutions. You would take the ownership of creating and developing a new visual identity and design system that would be part of the tooling used across the entire organization of Schibsted.

You would be part of the UX team that creates tooling for media creation and distribution for publications inside Schibsted, including VG and Aftenposten in Norway and Aftonbladet in Sweden. This is a position where your work impacts not only users inside media houses, but also millions of our readers - every day.

As a team, we create new insight-driven tooling that supports the development of quality journalism and smart news distribution. In a bigger picture, we help our publications to succeed in their journalistic mission - empowering the knowledge-based social debate and strengthening our democracy.

Skills & Requirements

About you

  • You are innovative and creative but can also see pragmatic solutions to problems
  • You are comfortable with debating, communicating and socializing in English
  • You have the experience and you feel comfortable in creating clean, effective and innovative visual design systems solutions
  • You have experience in creating visual identities
  • You have a bachelor or masters degree in design or more than 6 years of work experience as a visual designer
  • You are a team player with great communication and negotiation skills
  • You feel comfortable with managing your own workload
  • You are strong on digital concepts and at the same time have an eye for details
  • You are passionate about being up to date, keeping abreast of digital developments and designing modern solutions.

What will you do

  • Collaborate with UX designers, UX researchers, newsrooms, developers and project managers to identify user needs and experiences
  • Create a new, insight-driven design system
  • Create visual identities
  • Create and validate interactive prototypes
  • Create user interfaces
  • Foreseeing future design challenges and reflect them in the design system development.
