The position

Pierce is one of Europe’s most successful online retailers. We are growing rapidly, and we are currently looking for Product & Quality Engineers in Stockholm, Sweden. Would you like to be part of a dynamic Category & Sourcing Team in a company with close to 400 people, that sells across 18 European markets and manages suppliers around the globe, then this could be the role for you.

The purpose of the role:

  • Support Category Manager in development of Private brands products by adding expertise in material composition, product functionality and quality requirements
  • To assume the quality assurance and technical responsibility for a private brand product within his/her category
  • Contribute to the private brands factory – increase number of products and time-to-market

Responsibilities of a Product & Quality Engineer

You’re responsible for, together with the category manager, the development of private brands products. You will add expertise in material composition, product functionality and quality requirements. You will work as a partner with Project Manager on new product development planning documents.

Your responsibility is to assist in establish technical documentation needed to CE mark own-branded products and maintain regulatory compliance. You’re also responsible for the technical content of product specifications in defined own-branded product groups, to review and approve of design inputs, labelling, design outputs and validation reports.

You will be responsible for risk analysis of private brand’s product segment and to ensure stable quality of defined own-branded product groups according to the process and relevant stakeholders. You will monitor quality issues and market feedback as well as handling of complaints related to defined product groups (in the role of subcategory complaint handler).

You will continuously drive right level of quality for ensuring competitively priced products, e.g. through choice of raw materials, design of packaging systems etc.

You will support Pierce organization with deep product knowledge such as: relevant product standards, use of products, available raw materials as well as applicable packaging, production and relevant processes to provide good basis for successful performance. And within your responsibility lies to support external audits (Notified Body) if/ when needed.

You will adapt to new processes and way of working in transitional environment and pro-actively seek information or training to learn as well as participate in dedicated projects.

Skills & Requirements

Professional profile, competence and skills

  • Your education level is Master of science or bachelor’s degree in Design and Product development in related field of textile (fabrics) or chemical products. A major in chemistry is a plus
  • You have a at least 3 years’ experience from your field within the e-tail and/ or retail industry
  • You have high experience from working with quality management and/or product development
  • You’re experienced in creating product specifications and evaluating product quality, preferably knowledge of textile technology (e.g.: nonwovens, renewable materials) or polymer technology
  • You are well familiar to commercial objectives, being accountable and result oriented when it comes to support category managers to meet those targets
  • You have high analytical skills with big picture thinking and a strong drive for solving problems
  • You’re self-organizing, very structured and pro-active and can keep focus under pressure to deliver on targets and business critical actions
  • Your professional integrity and ethics are strong towards suppliers
  • You’re a team player with positive and customer-oriented attitude, working well cross functions
  • You can manage Excel on an advanced level and are well familiar to MS Office
  • You’re used to a dynamic work environment with flexibility and ability to adapt quickly
  • You have a cross cultural sensitivity, understands and can empathize with differences in people and cultures being respectful
  • English fluent, speaking as well as in writing
