Head of Business Control & Analytics

The Business Control & Analytics team is a key component in the growth and success of Qliro AB and responsible for a wide range of tasks, including business case modelling, the forecast process including strategic plans, and supporting new product and business development. We are currently looking for a Head of Business Control & Analytics to join and take the responsibility for the team, reporting to the CFO.

This commercial and highly influential career opportunity is one of the key functions in the Finance team. The main purpose of the Business Control & Analytics team is to be a business partner to the whole business and management team. The team provides analysis, insights, and reporting of key trends, business drivers, and financial outlook for Qliro AB, to support executive decision making. This position is responsible for following analytical best practices when analyzing results and identifying insights for decision making and business opportunities, as well as leading the strategy process. The Head of Business Control & Analytics is responsible for developing an unbiased, holistic view of the key drivers of business performance and will own key financial processes such as business planning, budgeting and follow-up. To accomplish this, the Head of Business Control & Analytics must have solid knowledge of finance and business analytics, financial forecasting, as well as and ability to handle large and complex data sets with an ability to take a helicopter view on the business. Additionally, the Head of Business Control & Analytics must be able to demonstrate self-leadership skills and the ability to influence and interact with various levels of the organization.

What you will do

The Head of Business Control & Analytics responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking a key role in the finance team and across the business actively driving the development of business processes and procedures, methods, information and systems as well as strategies and action plans to improve business performance and company profitability
  • Leading, coaching and inspiring the current growing team of three competent, driven and professional colleagues
  • Support all business development activities by analyzing growth initiatives including new products and services, geographic expansion, and pricing towards new customers.
  • Serve as a business partner to senior management by contributing to the monthly management report assisting them in developing and evaluating customer, product and marketing initiatives and understand results, identify drivers, communicate and advice on corrective actions
  • Responsibility for further developing and enhancing the forecast processes and strategic plans of the company
  • Interact and ensure cross-functional teamwork with all relevant departments and stakeholders, and sharing information to enable alignment across the organization in order to facilitate better decision making

Skills & Requirements

Who are we looking for?

​You need to be a person who enjoys working with data and has an ability to take a holistic view on the key business drivers and understand both short term and long-term value creation. The ideal candidate is a business-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast paced, and team-oriented environment. Furthermore, the right candidate will most likely fulfill the following requirements:

  • At least 4-6 years of finance or business experience with a great track record as a strategy consultant from a tier 1 firm, FP&A Manager or Business Controller. Industry experience less relevant, but experience in analyzing large and complex data sets is seen as a merit
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess leadership qualities and interest with the aim to take a C-level position in the future. Formal leadership experience is a plus
  • A solid commercial understanding with the ability to analyze financial results and recommend and implement necessary actions to maximize the business returns and enhance the operation performance
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects with a results-oriented focus
  • Experience with reporting and presenting information to senior management and board level
  • Ability and interest in dealing with large sets of data. Previous experience with SQL, or a similar query language, is a plus but not a requirement. Excellent excel skills is a must
  • Bachelor's degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred, in business, finance or an engineering/physics degree, or any related field with strong academic records.
  • Fluent in Swedish and in English
