Scandic Bryggen seeks a Hotel Manager to contribute to unique hotel experiences for our guests. We're looking for a candidate with enthusiasm to provide the highest level of service and attention to detail. As Hotel Manager you will be responsible for managing and leading all departments at our Boutique hotel Scandic Bryggen.

Responsibilities & duties:

  • Manage and organize the daily operations of our reception- and housekeeping departments
  • Ensure quality and service levels in reception, restaurant, housekeeping, breakfast and kitchen
  • Further develop the hotel's concept and operation in collaboration with the Operations Manager and key functions
  • Ensure staffing and costs based on budget and targets
  • Actively participate in the planning of events and functions
  • Upsales and guest follow-up
  • Handle guest retaliations and complaints
  • Training of reception and cleaning staff
  • Ordering, inventory and cost-control
  • General responsibility for personell and results
  • Overall responsibility for routines regarding IK mat, IK alkohol, internal controls and Health- Environment and Safety work at the hotel

The position is mostly administrative, but also involves some operation in the departments when needed. You work closely with Kitchen Manager, Technical Manager and F&B Manager and report to Operations Manager.

Skills & Requirements

As Scandic Destination Nordkapp and Scandic Bryggen have guests and employees from all over the world, you are required to possess good written and oral English-skills. Furthermore, you must know at least one Scandinavian language. Other language skills are preferred; please note in your application any other language skills you have.

We also ask that you:

  • Have knowledge and experience in the computer systems Scorpio PMS/OPERA and Simphony POS/MICROS
  • Generally good computer skills and learn new systems and routines quickly
  • You like to motivate and inspire your team and appear as a flexible, confident, positive and enthusiastic leader
  • You are passionate about guest experiences and enjoy having fun at work even in a stressful situation
  • You work analytically, systematically and structured with the administrative tasks but show off your creative side to solve challenges and lift the concept further
  • You maintain the highest level of Scandic's health and safety standards and work actively to develop concepts that can satisfy guests' needs in th best possible way
  • You hold relevant education within hotel, restaurant and tourism and / or experience in reception or restaurant management

The position will require some work on the evenings, weekends and holidays.
