Description

Sogeti are looking for a Manual Tester with 3+ years’ experience. The role will involve working closely with development and business teams to develop, design and execute test cases.

The candidate should have good experience of working in teams, with experience of one or more testing methodologies and exposure to different software development lifecycles ideally including Agile experience.

The ideal candidate will be expected to gain a deep understanding of the application and domain under test, helping to provide innovative solutions to testing.

Skills & Requirements

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 3 year’s software testing experience on IT projects

  • Experience in test case development and execution ensuring traceability to requirements

  • Experience of triaging and managing defects to closure within the defect management lifecycle

  • Experience in reporting test metrics on execution and defects to the Test Lead

  • Excellent working knowledge of test methodologies and techniques e.g. pairwise, risk based assessments of test requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A meticulous and thorough approach to work
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to ensure integrity and quality of solutions
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

  • A third level qualification in computing, engineering or science with significant computing content

  • ISTQB qualification

Role Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of testing from test design to test execution

  • Preparation and execution of test cases to ensure thorough testing of requirements

  • Working with the business teams to ensure all requirements are tested

  • Disciplined reporting, tracking, and resolution of product defects.
  • Re-testing defect fixes and regression testing
  • Participate in the test team meetings
  • Proactively communicating with development teams and business analysts to resolve issues or questions pertaining to test execution
  • Accurate and timely status reporting to Test Lead.
  • Contribute to test estimation and test plans
  • Coaching and mentoring junior test team members
  • Review and suggest improvements to ongoing test processes

Skills

Operational and practical experience of application testing preferably including knowledge of:

  • SDLC, Agile lifecycle

  • Test management tools e.g. JIRA, HP QC

  • Test automation tools e.g. Selenium

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Non-functional testing
