(Sr.) Manufacturing Process Engineer - Poland

Northvolt is establishing its first facility to industrialize and produce battery systems. In order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market, we are establishing a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions in Gdansk, Poland.

We are looking several Manufacturing Process Engineers enable high volume manufacturing process and resources allocation as efficient as possible. You will have an opportunity to be a part of international talented team of specialists in battery modules and energy storage systems manufacturing. You will also closely cooperate with Northvolts Stockholm battery system design team and recommend DFM actions.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, engineering expertise, and excellence to the Operations and Maintenance teams in support of Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Organizational Development initiatives
  • Develop and modify line concepts and layouts, including material flow, waste reduction, and ergonomics, utilizing Lean Manufacturing best practices
  • Analyze and optimize production processes to ensure safety while maximizing yield, capacity, and capability in cost effective means while driving to achieve world-class quality levels
  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop processes, tooling, assembly fixtures and procedures
  • Addresses and resolves production and customer problems related to product and process design and supplier components using systematic problem solving techniques
  • Assist in the sustainability of stable operations and a Continuous Improvement culture through leadership, training and collaboration with internal and external resources
  • Accountable for accuracy and control of PFMEA’s, control plan, flow charts for multiple production cells and lines
  • Establish, update, and maintain production procedures, maintenance procedures, process/product control, and test data
  • Audit plant activities to ensure compliance while maintaining appropriate documentation
  • Analyze, develop, process, and implement Engineering Change Orders
  • Work with production staff and engineers to develop, validate, and improve processes used in manufacturing and manufacturability of designs
  • Ensures the principles of 5S are followed
  • Assist in the training of operators as needed

Skills & Requirements

  • Relevant bachelor or masters degree in engineering
  • +8 years of hands on experience in similar position in high volume production
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM/MES/ERP software
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six-sigma, 8D, 5S
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite
  • Possess a wide breadth of knowledge in mathematics, physics and mechanics
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Ability to effectively lead and direct employees
  • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management
  • Fluent English, Polish is advantage
