Do you want to work with one of Sweden’s most well-known brands and largest websites? Do you want to make a daily impact for millions of users, connecting thousands of buyers and sellers every day, helping to avoid 0.8 million tonnes of greenhouse gases every year?

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a new colleague who is creative and pragmatic. At Blocket we enjoy collaborating and working together, both inside and outside our own competence areas and we always go the extra mile to support our colleagues. Developing a product like Blocket is truly a team effort and caring for each other is one of our core values.
Curiosity is very much encouraged. Learning new things, sharing findings with others, and being generous with feedback and support is a part of our way of becoming the best workplace in Sweden for engineers.
We think that you:

What will you be working on and with who?
Team Klirr owns two of the most fundamental functions at Blocket: the Ad insertion flow and the Payment flow. We develop high-performance transaction-intensive fault-tolerant solutions that is online 24/7. The team is cross-functional and consists of frontend and backend developers, QA, UX, PO and an Engineering Manager.
We strive to continuously improve, both our product, our team and they way we work, as well as ourselves, both as colleagues and individuals. We test, learn and improve in short cycles, focusing on creating customer value and giving a top-class experience. We work agile in two-week sprints and do PI plannings together with all other teams in six-week cycles.
During the autumn we will, among other things, be working with moving the whole Blocket platform from today's on‑premises hosting into Amazon AWS and go all in on cloud hosting. If you have experience from working with AWS, that is a plus, but either way, we think that you are as excited about this as we are!

A great, modern office in central Stockholm
Breakfast every Monday and fika on Fridays
The Blocket journey began in Skåne 1996 - since then the concept of Blocket has been exported to over 40 other countries. Today, Blocket is Sweden’s largest online marketplace with more than 5 million visitors every week. There are approximately 600 000 items, vehicles, jobs and housing being advertised. During 2018 the value of all advertisements amounted to SEK 714 billion - equal to 15 percent of Sweden’s GDP.
Blocket has approximately 240 colleagues and the office is located in central Stockholm. Thanks to second-hand trading at Blocket, 0.8 million tonnes of greenhouse gases can be avoided every year, which is equivalent to if Stockholm’s city roads stood empty for about a year.
