Enterprise Technology Manager of HR & Finance Services

As Manager of the HR- & Finance team you are responsible for the development and delivery of E-Tech business services for HR & Finance business functions within Schibsted.

This includes responsibility for service strategy and roadmap, development and maintenance of the services and delivery of them. The business services include 3rd party applications and managing vendors and implementation of 3rd party applications are an important part of the job.

In this role, you will be working closely with our business stakeholders, mainly in Oslo and Stockholm, and provide them with superb, user-friendly and cost-effective tools supporting the business processes in HR and finance.

We believe that you have extensive experience in working with ERP systems and leading teams. As this is a key role in our organization we need someone with deep technical knowledge as well as excellent communication skills. Someone who understands business needs and business language within HR and Finance. You need to be at ease with talking to stakeholders in different levels of our organization, from CFOs to ERP specialists.

You will join an organization embarking on a journey to centralize our ERP systems and you will have a great opportunity to influence the business on this journey. To your help, you will have your own team of system specialists. You will also work closely with shared integrations-, BI- and developer resources.

Key responsibilities:

  • Business stakeholder management
  • Define and develop strategy and roadmap for the services. Ensure alignment with the broader technology and enterprise strategic plans
  • Build long-term capabilities that ensure scalable solutions with agile architecture and high quality code
  • Work with business operations teams to ensure good coordination of IT changes without impacting business processes
  • Build and maintain relationships with other IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, with end-to-end efficiency as overall objective
  • Develop and control the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for E-Tech HR & Finance services and manages expenses to stay within the plan
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies and best practices related to the application management domain. As well as provide direction on what emerging technologies and methods should be introduced, integrated and assimilated to support Schibsted’s strategy and business needs
  • Responsible for recruiting, developing and motivating people with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills, and competencies.
  • Work toward a balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core business applications are reliable, scalable and efficient

Knowledge requirements:

  • Minimum of two years experience working with ERP systems
  • Solid experience in IT and software development
  • Experience from leading IT teams
  • Experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams, influencing key stakeholders, across the organization and within complex contexts

  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent education is a plus. However, relevant experience can compensate for education.


  • You have a diversified background from software engineering, demonstrated leadership skills and have a superior, service-oriented approach to application and service delivery.
  • Strong capability to attract and retain talent
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision that inspires and motivates tech staff
  • Strong strategic capability and the will to stay on top of market development and new technology
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role
  • Experience in budget planning and financial management
  • Experience from working with 3rd party vendors.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to senior leaders, and business concepts to the ET business solutions workforce

  • This role requires flexibility for travels - the team will include people within the Nordic countries
