Construction Project Manager / Facility Manager - Poland

Northvolt Poland is establishing its first facility to industrialize and produce battery systems. In order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market, we are establishing a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions in Gdansk, Poland.

We are looking for Project Manager who will be responsible for managing the construction of new facility of 50.000 m2 and cooperate with all stakeholders and teams of Northvolt Poland Sp. z o.o. in Gdansk and Northvolt AB in Stockholm. It includes collaboration with relevant department managers, engineers, designers and architects to determine the specification of the project as well as developing tenders and negotiating contracts with external vendors, reporting directly to the COO.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee, manage and direct construction project from begging to end;
  • Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities;
  • Supporting EPCM services by internal and external team;
  • Ensure that contractors are fully executing and complying with contracted scope of work;
  • Review and monitor the project in-depth;
  • Ensure schedule of all the deliverables;
  • Cost estimating and budget planning and executing;
  • Track inventory regularly;
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status;
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones;
  • Monitor and guide compliance with building and safety regulations;
  • Train and give feedback to construction workers and subcontractors;
  • Ensure tools, materials and equipment;
  • Manage and mitigate risks;
  • Always ensure quality construction standards.

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience as construction project manager in the industrial sector;
  • BSc in engineering, building science or relevant field;
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles;
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and budget execution;
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving;
  • Ability to assess and handle risks;
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software
  • Prince2/PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
  • Fluent English.
