Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Head of Information Technology to join our passionate team in Stockholm. In joining us you will play a crucial part in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

We would expect you to have a proven track record of building world class, creative, and agile IT organizations. Northvolt is building cloud first applications and infrastructure and experience from manufacturing is a big advantage in this role.

You will be responsible for selecting technologies, managing execution of multiple large IT programs, operating and maintaining all 3rd party applications, and supporting a diverse user base. Reporting directly to the Chief Automation Officer you will work closely with the executive team.

As Head of Information Technology you will build and be in charge of an IT-team, that will need to go through an aggressive growth period to meet the needs of a company going from a start up to a large enterprise.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Growing the IT organization consisting of business, manufacturing, and productivity systems
  • Plan and direct the implementation of new IT systems
  • Work with internal software development teams to perform build vs buy analysis and develop, manage, and maintain complex integrations
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers for installing new technology and training employees on its use
  • Create and adapt technological platforms to improve the client experience
  • Provide leadership to IT specialists and other staff within the company

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in information technology and resource management
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems including leading requirements analysis, integration planning, vendor selection/negotiation, and of course project execution
  • Knowledgeable about Manufacturing Operations Management systems encompassing: production, quality, inventory, and maintenance operations
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a preferred
  • Experience in building and managing cloud first applications, networks, and infrastructure is a preferred
  • Software development or DevOps engineering and management experience a plus

• Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
