As a Product Development Specialist, you will support our product developers by testing raw materials in confectionery applications and preparing kitchen-scale samples. You will also maintain raw material specification documentation, support sensory evaluation team and keep our product development kitchen running smoothly.
In this position you will:
- Plan and prepare kitchen-scale samples for product development and raw material projects, and pack, document and follow them up, including shelf-life monitoring
- Test alternative raw materials and act as the product development contact person in raw material trial runs in production
- Maintain raw material specification documentation for agreed raw material groups, prepare materials for HACCP and EHS reviews, and support traceability and recall exercises
- Carry out internal sensory evaluations (prepare samples, instruct panellists, and analyse and report the results) and prepare samples for consumer tests
- Maintain the overall functionality of the product development kitchen: equipment, raw material and packaging stocks, orders, shipments, tidiness and 5S rounds
This role is a permanent position and located onsite in Lappeenranta, where we work mainly onsite. The role involves a willingness to travel to other Fazer factories when needed. You will report to Director, Product Development.
Compensation
The role in question is a salaried position under the Collective Agreement for Salaried Employees in the Food Industry. The base salary of this position is between 3 600 € – 4 150 € / month depending on the knowledge and professional experience of the selected candidate.
This role is eligible for annual bonus plan (as confirmed each year separately by Fazer) with a target level earning potential of 8 % of annual salary.

Skills & Requirements
A vocational degree in food or a related field is an advantage, but most importantly, you have hands-on experience in confectionery production and equipment, giving you a practical understanding of how production works.
To succeed in this role, you:
- Are interested in product development and sensory evaluation and eager to grow as a specialist
- Are systematic, precise and independent, yet a true team player who takes ownership of shared spaces and routines
- Are comfortable with MS Office and willing to learn ERP systems
- Communicate fluently in Finnish and English
