Job Description

Would you like to design technically demanding machinery solutions? Are you ready to take the next step in your electrical engineering career?

Vaski Group is now looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to work with highly automated production line solutions in Hyvinkää, Finland.

Vaski Group is a fast-growing company in the industrial machinery sector, specialising in flat bar and sheet metal processing and automation. Over the past five years, the company has grown from €0 to over €50 million in revenue and from a team of just four people to 270 skilled professionals – all while maintaining strong profitability. Vaski Group combines the strengths of three established brands, Vaski, Pivatic, and Ursviken. In this role, you will focus particularly on Pivatic's sheet metal processing solutions and production lines.

What will you be doing?

As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will take responsibility for the electrical design of Pivatic's production line solutions. Your daily tasks include designing of electrical control panels (cabinets) and field wiring, preparing electrical drawings for production, selecting sensors and components, and carrying out electrical and safety design using EPLAN. You will also conduct risk assessments and troubleshoot electrical issues when needed. Moreover, you will contribute to international customer-specific delivery projects and modernization projects, collaborating with internal mechanical engineers, automation specialists, production teams and customer service - all located under the same roof.

Approximately 80% of your time will focus on electrical design, while 20% involves technical coordination and guidance of your colleagues and other internal stakeholders. You will act as the go-to expert for electrical engineering matters within the organization and ensure clear internal communication and knowledge sharing on technical topics. You will also have direct management responsibility for one Electrical Engineer, and your team could grow in the future.

What makes you a great fit?

This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced professional or an Electrical Engineer ready to take the next step towards broader responsibility and technical leadership. What matters most is your technical competence, willingness to take ownership, and motivation to develop. You thrive in a dynamic environment where not everything is set in stone, and you enjoy taking initiative, making decisions, and finding solutions along the way.

You have a solid understanding of electrical design for industrial machinery or equipment and are comfortable working independently. You approach technical challenges systematically, collaborate well with others, and are eager to deepen your expertise. Rather than expecting you to know everything from day one, we value your ability to learn, make sound technical decisions, and grow into the responsibilities of the role.

We expect you to have:

  • A suitable technical education in electrical engineering or a related field
  • A few years of relevant hands-on experience in electrical design for industrial machinery, equipment, and/or production lines
  • A good understanding of control panels (cabinets), field wiring, and the fundamentals of machinery safety
  • An independent and systematic working approach, good problem-solving skills, and a willingness to take on broader technical responsibility
  • Good communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate in an international engineering environment

We consider as an asset:

  • Experience using EPLAN for electrical design
  • Knowledge of Siemens components and industrial automation solutions
  • Experience with pneumatics, motion control, or mechatronic systems
  • Finnish language skills

We offer you:

  • A dynamic, fast-growing, and international employer that is a pioneer in its industry, offering the opportunity to work with technically advanced, cutting-edge products
  • A versatile and responsible role involving technically demanding projects
  • The opportunity to develop your expertise across various areas of mechatronics
  • A position in a skilled and close-knit engineering team where responsibility and trust go hand in hand
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, travel insurance, occupational and leisure-time accident insurance, wellness and lunch benefits, and a phone benefit

Practicalities:

In this full-time and permanent position you will be employed directly by Vaski Group. The preferred starting date is as soon as possible, ideally in December 2026, with the exact date agreed upon with the selected candidate.

The position is primarily based at Pivatic's Hyvinkää facilities, where engineering, production, and other key functions operate under one roof. We expect you to work on-site at least a couple of days per week. The role also involves occasional travel, mainly to Seinäjoki, potentially on a monthly basis. International travel is limited, typically to approximately 1–2 trips per year.
