Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a PLM Analyst to join our passionate IT- and Infrastructure team in the Automation department.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The PLM (product lifecycle management) implementation at Northvolt is business critical to enable our goal in having a digital twin of our factories to simulate the setup and processes in fully automated production. Having control of all the factory information will be key when scaling and setting up new factories.

PLM is also crucial to be able to manage our products IP in a controlled and secure way. The end goal is one single source for all the product and manufacturing information - a journey where we will want your help!

Your mission as PLM Analyst is to drive the initiatives regarding the manufacturing digitalization with help of our PLM platform Teamcenter. We believe that you have a good understanding of product development processes in the industry; expertise in PLM tools is a must to succeed in this role. To have experience from Siemens PLM solutions is a plus, as well as being a driver and enabler that makes things happen.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Defining the PLM architecture within the manufacturing domain, including boundaries to other systems like MES and ERP
  • Successful collaboration with main business stake holders to define a well working system landscape for product and manufacturing information.
  • Validate, refine, prepare and prioritize the requirements, e.g. by conducting workshops and turn it into implemented solutions.
  • Make technical recommendations and implement overall manufacturing system design of the Plant Design and Optimization solutions.

Skills & Requirements


  • BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial/Systems Engineering, or equivalent
  • Good understanding of product development processes in the industry; expertise in PLM tools is a must, understanding of Siemens PLM solutions is a plus.
  • Strong software expertise and experience including technical/Business background within industry PLM solutions.
  • General understanding of manufacturing methodologies and processes.
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLM manufacturing solutions such as Teamcenter Manufacturing and Tecnomatix Process Simulate.
  • Experience with Tecnomatix Plant Simulation
  • Previous experience implementing manufacturing Plant Design and Optimization solutions.
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLM solutions such as Simatic IT and Camstar is a plus.

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
