We are now looking for a Sustainability Specialist to join our Group Sustainability team at our headquarters in Solna. This is a hands-on, business-facing role for someone who wants to help drive real change across an international organisation.

Adapteo operates across a dozen European countries, and sustainability is a central part of how we develop our business, our products and our way of working. In this role, you will work closely with our Business Units and Group Functions to help turn Adapteo’s sustainability goals into concrete action, progress and measurable results.

You will report to the Chief Sustainability Officer and be part of the Group Sustainability team. The role is based in Solna, and includes frequent travel across our markets. You will be expected to be close to the organisation: supporting, planning, driving, following up and helping teams move from ambition to delivery.

We are looking for a sharp planner, strong project leader, engaging communicator and constructive change driver. You are proactive, self-driven and result-oriented, but also a genuine people person who knows that transformation happens when people come together.

Your responsibilities

As Sustainability Specialist, you will project lead, coordinate and drive sustainability initiatives across Adapteo’s Business Units, Group Functions and cross-functional forums. Your main focus will be to support the practical implementation of Adapteo’s sustainability strategy, targets and priority initiatives, ensuring that plans become actions and actions become results.

In practice, this means that you will:

• Project lead and coordinate sustainability initiatives across countries, Group Functions and cross-functional teams.
• Drive implementation of activities that support Adapteo’s sustainability goals, including initiatives related to circularity, climate, social value, products, operations, and business development.
• Work closely with Business Units to support local progress, understand operational realities and help translate group-level sustainability priorities into practical action.
• Act as a close partner and constructive driver for managers and teams across the organisation, helping them plan, prioritise, follow up and deliver agreed sustainability activities.
• Develop and maintain clear action plans, timelines, responsibilities, follow-up structures and progress reporting.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, training sessions and working groups that create engagement, clarity and momentum.
• Prepare status updates, summaries, decision material and supporting content for management reviews, governance meetings and internal follow-up.
• Identify barriers, gaps and improvement opportunities related to ownership, ways of working, capabilities, documentation, performance or implementation.
• Propose and drive practical solutions that strengthen both sustainability performance and business value.
• Follow up progress, challenge delays constructively and help ensure that agreed activities are delivered according to plan.
• Contribute to a strong sustainability culture across Adapteo by being visible, accessible and active in the organisation.

As Sustainability Specialist, you will have broad exposure to how sustainability is integrated into an international business. You will work both strategically and operationally: sometimes preparing structured material for governance meetings, sometimes facilitating a workshop, sometimes helping a Business Unit solve a concrete implementation challenge, and sometimes travelling to meet teams on site to understand what is actually happening beyond the slide deck.
