About the job

As a Validation Engineer at Verhaert On-site Consulting, you will join our specialized R&D team deployed directly within state-of-the-art client environments. In this role, you will take ownership of the requirement validation for specific components or modules within high-tech automotive applications (such as hybrid powertrains and automatic transmission systems).

You will define the validation approach, turn abstract requirements into actionable test plans, and ensure execution through to final sign-off (SOP).

Responsibilities

• Validation Strategy & Virtual Testing: Define the overall domain validation approach, incorporating virtual validation methodologies where applicable.
• Test Plan Execution & Sign-off: Take accountability for the extended product design validation test plan, ensuring milestone alignment and formal sign-off at SOP.
• Planning & Operational Efficiency: Convert long-term roadmaps into weekly execution plans, proactively identifying and resolving roadblocks to optimize testing throughput.
• Test Coordination & Data Analysis: Translate abstract test needs into structured test requests; prepare, execute, analyze data, and report on complex development tests.
• Technical Interface & Support: Build strong relationships with internal and international testing facilities, providing actionable technical work instructions and supporting cross-functional teams.

Job requirements

Profile & Experience

• Education: Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electro-Mechanics, or equivalent technical experience.
• Domain Expertise: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the automotive sector, with a strong background in automotive testing and testing facilities. Experience with Hybrid Powertrains, Automatic Transmissions, or technical team leadership is a significant plus.
• Problem-Solving & Quality Mindset: Analytical and structured approach to problem-solving (e.g., 8D methodology), emphasizing preventive planning alongside execution.
• Communication & Consultancy: Excellent customer focus, flexibility, and strong presentation skills to represent validation domain standards within client organizations.
• Languages: Professional fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
• Work Authorization & Location: You hold a valid Belgian work permit (or EU citizenship), are based in Belgium, or are willing to relocate.
